My AC unit is not working. The stick test jump started the fan, but the unit is still pushing hot air. Is this a capacitor issue or frion?
-
the fan had hummed before and then clicked once. When I went to jump start the fan with the stick test, it was humming steadily. The fan started but only pushed hot hair for 45 minutes, so I shut it back off... .what could this be? BTW, I do not have an ohm meter or know anyone with one.

Answer:
The fan moves the air. The compressor makes it cold. If the compressor isn't running: no cold air. Recharging the coolant is pointless if the compressor isn't running. Check that first.
