Science Fair Project?

How to make a science fair project?

  • I am looking to take biology honors in freshmen year of highschool (next year) and I really don't want to do the science fair. My science teacher keeps recommending me to take biology honors but I don't know how to make a science fair project. Any helpful suggestions for quick, simple, but smart project ideas? Also have any of you had any experience in biology honors and science fairs? If so please let me know what you think about them like if it was easy or hard and what your project was. Thanks!

What about a study on different types of colored lights on plants? It is relatively simple for a biology project. Build 8 different light safe boxes, and do a light test by putting them in a dark place and putting a strong lamp inside and examining it. Use different colored lights in each, and test the growths of plants. Takes about 3 weeks, but the hardest part is building the boxes. Your teacher should be able to give you better directions.

The first stage to developing a project is determining the question you want to ask- developing a hypothesis. You shouldn't try to design the experiments or project before deciding what you want to study.

It is your teacher's job to help you choose an appropriate topic. You are not going to do well without a teacher's support.
