Why would organic brown sugar be sustainable?

Brown Sugar substitute... FAILED! Why?

  • I found out that if I don't have brown sugar I can do a substitute of 3/4 cup white sugar and 1/4 molasses to replace 1 cup of brown sugar. However I tried this last night. I was making pancake syrup which I successfully did 2 weeks ago (WITH brown sugar). This time with the molasses replacement I was left with this funky black licorice tasting like syrup, so horrid I had to throw it out (none of us like black licorice).

    Should have been 2 tablespoons for every 1 cup of white sugar. Sorry you had a mess.
