Applying for a summer job at chick fil a
-
I plan this summer on getting a job at Chick Fil A. This will be my first job and i will be 17 years old so will there be a higher chance of them higher me or should i feel out more applications at different places. Also lets say they called me in for an interview do i have to go all out and where a suit or a button down shirt and tie or can i wear some Khaki pants, collar polo shirt with small the small polo horse in the corner, and some Sperry. I rather wear a collar shirt and khaki pants or button down shirt with tie, than a whole shirt. I also will have football over the summer do you think i could still get the job and still practice over summer. They did say online that they have flexible hours.

Answer:
From what I've seen and heard, Chick Fil A has some pretty strict hiring rules and are very selective in whom they hire. I would dress as nice as you can and do your best to impress the person who interviews you. I would mention your football practice with them but it might be better to wait till you have the job first and then work with them on your hours.

Rule of thumb: Always dress one level above what your job's going to be. Some nice long pants, clean shoes, and long sleeved button-down. :) Comb hair, and shave right before going. Make sure you smell nice, and have a firm handshake, good smile but not a constant one, and good eye contact. Think of your answers to any interview questions ahead of time. If they say "tell me about yourself" NEVER say "what do you want to know?" preplan your answer. It can't hurt to fill out more than one application! If you get the job, and others still try to contact you, just say you're no longer available. :) Normally, food places have a lot of different shifts to fill, so you could choose between morning or evening shifts. Shouldn't impede too much on practice.

They are a christian company so be polite, respectful, make sure you tell them up front about football.

You are overthinking it. If you can't be available to work, don't apply. Dress conservatively and ready to work. Wearing a suit and tie to the interview is not appropriate.
