How do I put new rear speakers in my car?

What all do I need to buy to put new speakers and subs in my car? I've heard there's a lot more to it than just those parts alone

  • I have a 2011 Mazda Mazda3 i Sport and I got 2 12 inch kicker subs as a gift. I want to put them in my car, and new speakers as well. I've heard I'd need to get an amplifier as well, but I don't know if that's true or if I'd need even more along with all that. I have someone that agreed to do all the labor, I just need to know what all I'll be buying before its all installed.

    I don't really know much about this but everyone I know that added speakers to their ride had an amp.

Question why do you need more speakers to "show-of" to be "uncool. Save your money for repairs that you will need soon Tires etc

The subs need to be in a box that fits, 2 twelves is a lot for that little car, but then an amp that slightly overpowered the subs, and an amp wiring kit with a fuse and all of the cables. If you're unsure you should get help from someone who does.

You need an amp with separate sub outputs. You need a fused power supply to run the amp. And you need to figure out how to connect the head unit to the amp. There are "how-to" instructions on the Internet.
