What are some cool or weird facts about Japan?

ok - weird and true fact - there are vending machines in Japan that sell used panties from young gals.

They have a ton vending machines, like they have a ton for basically every thing. Sleeping on the job once a day is considered "good" it means that an employee has been working very hard. I'm not too sure though I got these facts from a video.

70% of japan consists of mountains, and more than 200 volcanoes.

They have hologram pop stars that perform "live" concerts ... and people actually pay money to see this.

Smokers (and there are a lot in Japan) don't ash on the sidewalks as they walk, like they do everywhere else in the world. They carry a personal, portable, sealable ashtray and ash into it. When they're done with the cigarette, they stub the butt out in the ashtray as well (no tossing it on the sidewalk and stamping it out). Then they seal the ashtray, put it in their pocket, and wait until they encounter a trash can to empty it out.
