How to keep my grades up?

How can I keep my grades up all semester? Read description

  • Last semester, I had really good grades for about half of the semester. The second half of the semester, though, I got pretty "OK" grades. A few A's, a few B's and one C+. I'm in Middle School, but I've been wanting to go to Stanford college since I was 8 years old, and I don't think getting B's and C's will get me a scholarship. The new semester is coming up and I want to get amazing grades. What are some ways/strategies to keep my grades up all semester long?

  • Answer:

In my experience of colleges, they only request your high school transcript....so most likely Stanford won't even need to see your B's and C's. That being said use this time to improve your study skills so you can start high school off on the right foot. Some people rewrite their notes, some have to draw pictures to understand concepts, or some use highlighters. My advice is to stay on top of your work everyday by doing your homework and studying for tests in a timely manner. Review the material several times before a test. Make sure you take breaks because you don't want to get burned out.

Do whatever you did in the first half of the semester. All kids have that period of the school year where they slack off. The only way to get good grades is keep studying, taking notes, and showing up to class on time

Whenever you have missing or incomplete assignments keep track of them so you can be sure to turn them in. If your teacher lets you redo assignments keep track and redo those as well. It is basically just a matter of hard work and organization. You can even keep a planner to map out and efficiently use your time:)

You're only in middle school.. You still have to get through high school. and I'm pretty sure your high school grades will matter more. However, if you want to maintain good grades.. Always study hard for tests, always complete your assignments on time, listen in class, and if you don't understand something talk to your teacher.
