How can I get rid of my bearshare toolbar?

While I am using Ask, my Toolbar vanishes and nothing I do can make it come back: what is causing this? How can I get it to reappear?

• I don't want to cause any offense to the company or to the Admins, but I am staunchly firm on this: I want to use our own Firefox Mac toolbar, all the time, not the Ask toolbar! The ENTIRE DOCK ON HIS MAC vanishes TOO!You see, my partner owns this computer and he absolutely does not like the Ask toolbar and went to lengths to get it removed from his desktop when it got installed against his will. He had to re-install Firefox to accomplish this. After he did so, I could still use the toolbar while using Ask, then one day it just disappeared and not once has it reappeared while the site is open. This is extremely inconvenient. Is this by any chance a way to persuade people to re-install the Ask toolbar? If the Ask toolbar is to be desired (outside the Ask site) by users, it needs much improvement in general. Also, it ought not to be installed w/o the computer owner's permission!

  This seems to be a problem with only the mac operating systems, my PC does fine with the tool bar and my original bar remains accessible as well.
