Do transfer credits count towards GPA?

If you transfer to a school that doesnt take your credits do those credits still count towards your gpa

  • I'm transferring to a community college and I want to know if my religion class will still count towards my gpa when I transfer

  • Answer:

If they aren't giving you any credit for the course, then no they don't factor into your GPA- it's like those courses don't exist to the college. If you are getting elective credit but not credit for the class that is specified- for example, you took English 101 and the college you're transferring to gives you the 3 credits but as an elective and you have to retake English 101- then they count towards your GPA.

Other answers

If you mean unaccredited, that means they aren't giving you anything, including acknowledgement of taking the class, or that's the context i've seen it at least.

Typically, when you transfer, no credits, whether they are accepted or not, count towards your GPA.
