If I am copying the definition of a word on a paper that is in MlA format do I need to cite the source in MLA format?

I don't think so. Only time you need to cite is if your taking information from a sight or quoting someone.

Always site everything!!! If you want to avoid repercussions of accidental plagiarism site everything. Use an in text citation and include it under your works cited page. EasyBib is my favorite website for siting sources.
