How do I convince my mom to get a skateboard?

  • I've saved up enough money to buy this skateboard, I kept telling my mom that it's my money, and I've been saving up for months. She said only if you take skateboarding lessons, I'll let you get a skateboard. I don't want to take lessons, and I already take many other lessons, she even found a website on skateboarding lessons, she says she has to do "Research" I don't want lessons. Besides, we need to save money, and all of my lesson already cost a lot of money. My mom keeps saying to save money, but she's always talking about you need to take lessons. I told my mom about the saving money stuff, she's not convinced. I then told her the YouTube will teach me, she said no. She said only if you take lessons from a pro skateboarder. It's not like I want to become a professional skateboarder or something, I just want to skateboard for fun, and it seems really awesome. My friend let me ride her skateboard a coupe times, and I just really love it. Now she's just not letting my get it anymore because I won't take skateboarding lessons. Is there any other way to convince my mom to get a skateboard without taking lessons from a teacher???

No. Your mom wants to keep you safe and there's no way she's going to let you do skateboarding until you take the lessons. Find out what is being taught - if there's a certain amount of lessons you have to take or you can just take a few classes, etc. In addition, having the computer teach you is definitely not the same as having an instructor be hands-on with you.
