Does anyone have any tips for the AT-SAT?

Can anyone give me tips for growing tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and tips on how to keep pests out of them?

  • I love to garden, but anyone could use more tips. I mainly grow tomatoes, because I LOVE them, almost everybody does. I will start selling them in my driveway shop (if you look at recently asked questions on my profile, you will understand.) I was wondering if anyone had any favorite places to get such plants? And maybe how you like to take care of them? Thanks in advance! :)

  • Answer:

Plant marigolds with your tomatoes to keep bugs away. Other plants that help are basil, Rosemary and lavender. Don't allow your tomatoes to touch the ground, it will rot them. Don't water them where the tomatoes get wet but water low to prevent blight. You can cut the bottom off a 2 liter bottle, poke some holes around the neck/lid and partway bury it near your plant. Fill it with water and you will have a slow release watering method. 7 dust is a good bug deterrent. Sucker the smaller limbs off the plant to keep from having too many tomatoes which will interfere with sunlight and nutrition.

A great (reputable) place for garden plants or seeds is Burpee.com. Awesome company, been around for decades! The one tip I always pass on to gardeners is: Miracle Gro. It will become your best friend, if it's not already! :)
