What would be a good objective in general for a resume?

What's a good objective to put on your resume if you're trying to work in retail?

  • I'm working on my first resume and I have no clue what to put as an objective.

  • Answer:

Objective: I would like to first hand learn more about customer service, sales and business. I believe the more I learn about these skills, the better I will be able to assist an organization no matter where I go in the future.

exactly what is your objective? Put that in your resume. If you have to make up an objective, I suggest not providing one, they'll likely see right through it. Give some thought to why this job or industry, as opposed to others. some ideas to think about: - is this company a leader, recognized in retail? maybe you "want to associate with a market leader and develop broad skills and knowledge...." (I would think, as interviewer, potential future manager etc.) - if you're studying business in school, or fashion, etc., maybe you "desire to supplement your formal education with an established industry leader for mutual benefit....". Do a little research on the company, decide why you're applying to the job. Sincerity will be rewarded.
