What is the best and proper way to study for an AP Exam?

What's the most effective & productive way to study for the upcoming AP exam?

  • I'm taking the AP Biology exam next Monday & I feel anxious & nervous about it. I gave myself a month in advance prior to this to study each chapter carefully. My study method is to make flashcards for vocabulary & read over concepts that I do not understand well until I drill it in my head. :) I don't know if that's the best way. Anyways, what kind of helpful methods do you use when studying for an important exam?

  • Answer:

What you are doing is good. I would also suggest, if you can, have a friend or a family member can quiz you. It's what I did with my son - he's taken 4 AP exams and passed them all with 4s and 5s.

It sounds like you're on the right track. What always worked for me was seeing, saying, hearing. Read the information. Say it out loud, And if possible record it and listen to it. You really just have to figure out what method works best for the way you learn.

a little bit of caffine, and note taking. I find that note taking really helps, even if you arnt going to use the note. Writting things down can sometimes help you remeber them. However, everybody learns diffrent so depending on how you learn you may want to adjust your study habits to that (this is why homeschool works better for some students) here s a page I found about it http://www.educationplanner.org/students/self-assessments/learning-styles-styles.shtml
