I have many articles I want to write about, but where do I write them so people will see?

There are some sports article topics that I am wanting to write about, but I have no idea where to go to write them at. I've heard people create their own blogs, but can't I go to a big well known place to write them, or do you have to work for them for that? I signed up for Bleacher Report, but I can't find a way on the site to write my article.
