How to make working butterfly wings?

Wing question for experienced costumers/cosplayers!! Tips on how to make a good wing harness for big wings? (no feathers!!)

• I am looking to create a wing harness for a costume.I have looked up tutorials around the internet, but I don't think that any of them will hold up the wings for my costume.I am making a costume of Bhunivelze from Lightning Returns, and he has 8 insanely detailed wings. I don't think that the strap harnesses that are so common around the cosplay world will hold them up. I watched the ffxiv a realm reborn costume contest, and the garuda has some big wings with a neat looking harness that I think would work MUCH better....if I can figure out how to make one, or at least one like it! any help from some costumers or fellow cosplayers would be much appreciated! here is the harness that she used, that looks pretty good:http://s1293.photobucket.com/user/Azurekate14/media/garuda%20harness_zpsmlhntlwo.jpg.html?o=0 credits to Skulls McDoogan who made the costume.   I strongly suggest adapting a design from a body shoulder gun holster.
