How can i improve my sales pitch?

How safe and effective is lasik or for that matter any type of surgery in which its meant to correct or improve myopia? is it truly that

  • effective and permanent? why on dr. oz they were saying that the problem with lasik or any other type of surgery was that the results are pretty much unpredictable like 15-20 years after the surgery? is it true that its pretty much unpredictable or not? what is the percentage of side effects and have most people had good results assuming that theyre long term? would there be something better than lasik in the world right now or not? is there something more safe and effective than lasik or not? is lasik the only known surgical procedure known to improve or correct vision problems? or is it all hype and sales pitch that doctors want to do????? can an eye care health knowledge person please tell me. thank you.

  • Answer:

It depends on your particular prescription and eye health. As long as your myopia is not extremely heavy and you don't have significant astigmatism or conditions like keratoconus, most people can see a significant improvement. However, many experience complications like glare in night vision, dry eye, and reversion of prescription after some years (not usually all the way back to what it was, but back into the realm of needing eyewear). LASIK is still the most effective for most people, but some people actually do better on its predecessor PRK (a lot of people who think they've had lasik actually have had PRK), which has a slightly longer recovery time but fewer complications, though it can only be used on milder Rx. For very severe myopia, you might be able to get done what my fiance has had- having an extra lens inserted in front of your natural one. But this is for VERY high prescriptions. The best you can do is see an ophthalmologist that specializes in LASIK to find out if you are a good candidate. And stop listening to Dr. Oz- he's a hack.
