What is a good birthday gift to get for your mother if you don't have a lot of money?

  • HI. I realize my mother's birthday is coming in a few days, and I would like to know what is a good gift to get my mother that doesn't cost a lot of money? I am not being cheap - I don't have a lot of money on me right now and she's getting to be upset or mad if I don't get her anything this year. I can get her a card no problem, but I don't know if I want to buy her perfume, which is cheap- she has plenty of that. I have an old painting that I want to give her. What gift should I buy for her that doesn't cost a lot? I am open to suggestions. Please help - thank you.

    Spend time with her; cook her favorite meal; play a board game with her; bake cookies; do some lawn work; buy her a gift card to get a manicure, if she's into that ($20, I think). Get her the card as planned and then ask her, since your budget is tight, what special thing you could do for her (if she's not sure, give her some suggestions, as listed above).
