Matching spray paint to paint-paint

Exterior paint sticks to gutters fine, in my experience. And rent a paint sprayer.

Call the non-branded stores first. I agree with pheide though. A sprayer would be better. You are going to go through a lot of rattle cans.

I don't want to have to brush it on because I am lazy. You know, you really don't have to paint at all if they're already the color of the house. pheide is correct, you can use the exterior paint for the gutters, with a paint sprayer. Using individual spray cans would get super-pricey, if you have a lot of gutters.

And rent a paint sprayer. This. Don't knock yourself out trying to find a canned spray paint that matches the color your want. Just rent a sprayer and be done with it.

Keep in mind a few points. Your gutters and downspouts (you don't say if they're metal or vinyl, btw) are a different material and/or texture from the rest of your trim, so won't look the same regardless. I see that Smoke Tree is a stain, so I have to assume your exterior is wood, but stain would not work on your gutters/spouts unless those are wood or perhaps wood composite (this is pretty rare). I think you'll just have to find a best match in latex paint and spray that (yes, I concur with spraying as the best choice, but not from cans!). Can't you get S-W to recommend a match? Something in th Warm Neutrals group would seem fine, perhaps Sticks & Stones or Keystone Gray, at a glance? S-W staff could get you the closest RGB values, but .... As I say, even if it isn't super close, the difference in texture means it won't look exactly the same anyway, so something in the same relative range of hue will actually be fine. After weathering, probably barely noticeable. It's possible that the S-W guys will be able to tell you how much the stain and latex will weather and in what direction over, say, 3-5 years, and that might affect which paint you go with.

Seconding ask the Sherwin Williams folks. They are a treasure trove of painting knowledge. They'll know what kind of paint will stick to your gutters, how to apply it and can color match things (not necessarily spray paint, but I personally haven't tried that...)

I totally agree but from the link: If the gutters run along the trim, match the gutters to the trim color so the gutters disappear. ...and the downspouts run along trim bits, sad to say. Thanks everyone. I have a week to figure this out. I think we'll try Montana 7120 if I can figure out where to buy it and see how it looks. If it's not perfect, we'll just do brown. (We can't just leave them the brown of yesteryear because it's not the same as the brown of this year, and because they're splattered with the red stain of days of yore from the previous owners forays into shitty paint jobs, which also included electric blue bedrooms and an incredibly saturated shade of coral in the living room.
