How Can I Get My Video Clips Back? They're Very Important!

• I (along with the rest of my chorus) had my annual holiday concert a couple weeks ago. My dad had recorded a good chunk of it, but only got 15 seconds worth of my favorite song out of the whole show, that song being 'Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence' and he also got the first part of a 3 song hand bell medley that was played during intermission. Those were the two most important songs in the whole concert that I was hoping to get. Now, my sister happened to be in attendance with her boyfriend. She had used his iPad to record the whole entire concert, including the two songs that I need the most. (I make an annual Christmas mix for our family get together on Christmas Eve and I was hoping to put both songs on there. I saved two spots just for those songs.) She had given me some of the clips, about 4 or 5, but none of them were the two that I needed. Then she sent me a message on Facebook saying she had more clips to send me and would send them a little later. I nicely asked her on Facebook to please send them as they were very important, and she said they weren't working (I half believed that because my sister is known for lying. Why would 5 clips work and the rest not?) and I asked my dad for advice and he said tell her to at least try. So I told her send them anyway, the worst that could happen is they don't work. Then she said 'I deleted them, they were taking up too much space on the iPad. (why couldn't she have just told me that in the first place?) At that point I didn't know what to say or how to react. Why would she even record the concert if she wasn't going to send all the clips? And now my main question, how can I get these clips back? I know there are plenty of programs that recover deleted files, but the problem is, this isn't my iPad. It's my sister's boyfriend's. Is there any way I can convince her to recover the files? as I said before, she's known to be a liar and is very stubborn. I'm afraid to ask her on facebook because I don't want to start a f

• Answer:

  Stating that your sister is a liar on a very public world wide website is not the way to get her cooperation. If the files were deleted and then nothing else was recorded over, it is possible, but not likely, you can get the clips to reappear. Chalk it off to experience and next time bring your own camera.
