How do people celebrate dasara?

Why do people go yahoo when the Japanese celebrate THEIR war heroes in the Yasukuni shrine?

  • Americans celebrate fallen soldiers and airmen in the Vietnam war. I mean let's face it- some of these dudes were involved w. throwing napalm on villages, killing a lot of civilians. Yet the Vietnamese don't complain about America's Vietnam war vet memorial. Even dubious "war heroes" like General Custer have memorial services which celebrate him. The Communist Chinese celebrate their fallen soldiers even if many of them did some pretty dubious stuff in annexed territories such as Tibet. Not to mention overseeing and executing mass extermination of the Kampas, executing forced abortions against their parents' will, etc etc. Nobody complains. EVERY country is allowed to celebrate their nation's fallen, yet when Japan does it, the entire world pretty much is like "OOOOH! EEEEEVIL! UNACCEPTABLE!" Why this double standard ONLY when it comes to the Japanese?

  • Answer:

Shouting is traditional at some Japanese events. It happens at festivals too.
