Does the HDMI cable connect between the DVD recorder and the LCD and does it replace the SCART connection? Can the HDMI cable be used with Freeview transmissions in UK, connecting the DVD recorder to the LCD TV? thanks

Answer:
Yes on all three questions. SCART is an analogue standard, while HDMI is purely digital, and can be considered a replacement for it. SCART is only used in Europe... in the U.S., HDMI is a replacement for component video and DVI.
