How do I fix the graphics on my laptop?

On my laptop, my graphics driver has stopped working. Will getting a new laptop screen fix this problem?

  • I have went to greek squad to see how much it would be to fix my laptop, and they wanted too much. I know that fixing my laptop screen isn't going to be cheap, but I was told that replacing it myself is the cheapest option. Also, where is the best place to look/buy a screen?

what happens when you boot the laptop do you see the start up screen ?

I agree with level headed, replacing the monitor will not fix any issues with the driver or the Graphics Processing Unit(GPU). If updating the driver doesn't work, then you might have to change the GPU, and even that can't always be done. Update the driver and see what happens, if you still experience an issue, then try an older driver. If that doesn't work then try backing up and reloading your operating system(windows, linux, etc.) That should solve your problem, if it doesn't, then buying a new laptop would usually be cheaper than replacing the GPU.

If what you actually see on the screen is a message saying your graphics driver stopped working, you don't need a new screen. Click start, type in devmgr and click on device manager. Click on display adapters, click on the + box next to display adapters, right click on the graphic card and click update driver software.
