If I make linkedin.com profile, is my current company or are the current employees that also have an account on the site notified?
-
If I make a profile and add the name of my company to my work experience and if the company and other coworkers have profiles on the site are they alerted by linkedin that I added my company to my profile?
-
Answer:
Yes. LinkedIn is notorious for "linking" people and companies it sees as related or having something in common. It may also spam them with invites from you (this is how I ended up on it). The thing is to make sure you tell anyone who asks its about keeping contact with people you know in your field, not job hunting. If any fellow employees ask, you can ask them why they are on LinkedIn...
