How much do these different nursing fields make annually? (on average?

Why do men make more than women in almost all jobs, even for the same hours/work load?

  • Be they cashiers at a store or cardiologists working the same hours & work load, men get paid more & get raises faster than women. Why? Even in female dominated fields like teachign or nursing, most men make about the same as women or more, depending on seniority, but rarely will they get underpaid. Why is it that, as long as you've testosterone, that you'll HARDLY EVER STARVE in this world? And most men do NOT stick up for women tto have them earn more?

  • Answer:

This may be true in many cases, but I think things are slowly turning around. There will always be fields that men excel at and vice versa, but in time, I think it will even out. Maybe 100 years from now... Progress takes a long time.

If you will recall, there was an "equal pay" federal law passed long ago. It provided equal treatment in pay, promotion, etc. Remember the guys who got fired because they said something "sexist" that was overheard by a woman? Remember the kid who was expelled from college because he called some coeds "cows"? So, what has happened? Why is it that a woman's take home pay is less than a man's take home pay for the same job? Well, if it does exist, it is because the man works harder than the woman. Carries more of the load, as they have always done. Women have a whole series of acceptable reasons to not work, and the employer adjusts the pay accordingly (with the government's approval). If the pay was not adjusted, a woman would be paid MORE than a male employee. This issue is only coming to light because the Obama campaign is trying to activate the liberal women activists, without much success. But, rest assured, women are treated equal to men, and special to men, in what is left of business in America.

sounds like you just hate men.

Because men don't take off to take kids to Dr., ( not that it's a bad thing to take off for this). Me will work longer hours, men will work weekends, men are more willing to travel and be away from home. It's not that women are not as good at the job some are even better, it's the extras that get the men paid more.

I have been a store clerk, a cook, a cashier, a soldier, a babysitter, a car detailer for several car dealerships, and a car salesman. I have NEVER, in any of these jobs, seen a woman getting paid less than her male counterparts, and in many cases they were not physically up to doing the same work as the men. What America are you living in? Female soldiers; not nearly as able as men in a physically demanding environment. Female cops; always need male back up. Female firefighters... All three of these jobs have lower physical standards for women then for men. Yet the women get paid the same. People need to get a grasp on the fact that there are differences between men and women, and quit thinking that those differences don't matter.

CNN’s Lisa Sylvester found that even if you control for the hours worked, men make more than women — though the gap narrows to a five cent difference. Cornell economist Linda Barrington agrees. . . But it is more complicated than that. . . “Where the argument comes… is whether that last five percent is discrimination or is it that there are other things that we haven’t been able to control for that really explain the gap?” she said. Barrington says one such factor that could influence women’s pay is the fact that they are less likely than men to negotiate for higher starting salaries. “There is evidence that men are much more likely… to negotiate for that first salary and that first salary gets compounded with every raise thereafter,” she said. http://hereandnow.wbur.org/2012/05/03/gender-pay-gap The source is liberal left-wing woman-friendly Boston public radio station WBUR. Sounds like a big fuss over a not very big difference.

"It's a man's world, but it would be nothing, nothing, without a woman or a girl." We live in a world which is male dominated, and at the same time suffers from gross inequality.

I like to believe that's not true anymore. But may just be being Nieves .

Because men still make the rules and believe that men are the majority household head. There are so many women raising children alone because of divorce, never married or absent spouses. In a country like the United States, you'd think that would not be a problem? I know it is from experience. I worked in a company that had so many problems with it's major client that they were going to lose the account. I turned it around, single handedly in two months of better customer service, personal hands on to the client and even delivering, personally, items that were ordered, on weekends when needed. I found the esoteric item they needed and sold it for a smaller amount but made up for it and then some in total sales of the most needed. Then the owner hired his son. A totally sweet kid, with all the brains of a turnip about customer service. I got all the brunt of the complaints and he got the raise and the new equipment. I even brought in an older computer, that I rebuilt, of my own because the one I had at work was from the 80's. He screwed up constantly and still does. I got laid off because of the decline of the business. The boss is in bankruptsy now. I am not happy. But at least I know I didn't do the deed.
