What can we do differently?

Can any one tell me...what is the difference between Oxycodone and Hydrocodone? Also do they show up in a urine drug screening differently?

• I know Oxycodone is stronger than Hydrocodone...I also know that the difference between Percoset and Vicoden is the addition of Tylenol and Ibuprofen...they are just the drug/brand names for the addition of the anti-inflammatory it can either be aspirin, Tylenol or Ibuprofen ...what I really need to know is how do they differ as a mediation and if they show up differently in a urine drug screening! They are both opiates! Does that mean they show up as the same thing?

  First, Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory, it is a pain reliever. Aspirin and Ibuprofen are anti-inflammatory medications. Percoset is a brand name for a mix of oxycodone and acetaminophen (Tylenol is also a brand name). Vicodin is a brand name for a mix of hydrocodone and acetaminophen, as is Lortab, Lorcet and Norco. As to how they show up in a urine test, that depends on who's doing the testing. They are both semi-synthetic alkaloid derivatives of thebaine, but the technology absolutely exists to distinguish between the two. My sister works as a microbiologist in a hospital lab. They have been able to tell the difference between hyrdrocodone and oxycodone in blood and urine for years. Some companies use inexpensive test kits to drug test employees, which may not be capable of distinguishing between the two, but will just test positive or negative for opiates in general. If you are being tested in a hospital lab, by the police, or through a court-ordered drug program, rest assured… they will be able to tell the difference between oxydocone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine, heroin and any other opioid you may take.
