why dont doctors know anything about herbal stuff?

  • i told my surgeon my joints were always cracking and all he said was thats what happens as you get older, and i asked a question on here about joints cracking and someone told me to take hyluaronic acid and now they dont crack and pop hardly anymore and this was going on for yrs, so why did some stranger help me out more than my own doctor?

One unscientific incident does not a case for herbalism make. And hyluaronic acid is more readily found in cartilage (an animal product) than in plants.

Some medical doctors know about herbal/natural remedies. They usually won't recommend them to their patients. I hate to be crass......but doctors get kick-backs and other perks from drug companies by prescribing their products. There is no money to be made going the "natural route." It all comes down to money and greed. Unfortunately, medicine is a BUSINESS.......just like everything else.

There is a field of medicine in which instead of just the traditional MD program of 4 years of medical school, you have a DO designation after your name...7 years of medicine, including herbal therapies..much, much more intensive.

Because that person probably had the same problem and found a doctor that knew about Hyaluronic acid. How ever it's not a herb. Doctors dont go to college to learn about natural cures and the real causes of diseases, they are only trained for two things to cut parts of tha anatomy and to prescribe drugs, so thats why I prefer alternative medicine is more afortabel and herbs dont have side effects. there is a lot of freaud going on with the big pharma is all about the money they are not intersted in curng diseases they only treat symptoms so educate yourself usa is out of control right now people are being posioned trough drugs and they dont even know it

Mdicine is a complicated business, they can't know everything about everything, and in most countries herbal remedies are not officially approved medicaments. I'm glad it worked for you, but it might not be so effective for another individual any more than it makes your doctor an idiot for not knowing, that's why there are many fields of speciality in the profession.
