What is the best way I can study for my Math test?

  • I am a college student, currently taking Beginning Algebra because I suck at math. I have a test coming up in a week and I have no idea how to study for it. I usually do horrible on math tests. What is the best or easiest way to study for a math test? I've been doing decent so far. I get my homework done and got an 80 on my first quiz. How can I prepare myself for my math test? should I do practice problems in the book? Get a tutor? or both?

    You might want to take a look at khanacademy.org to help with your studies. It is a free site I recently saw about on 60min. It is probably, in time, going to replace colleges because they are costing so much these days. The program is presently backed by The Bill Gates Foundation and others. The best feature about Khan is that you can go at your own pace and there are coaches that will help you.

I would maybe do some practice problems, and make flashcards with steps on how to do certain types of problems. In addition, if you want or think you need some extra help in certain areas I would get a tutor. I have also made up a fake test with made up problems and timed myself with the time i have in class, and pretend its the real thing. it just kind of made it more real for me.
