Are low-calorie alternatives always preferable?

My car keeps on getting flat tires and it's costing me a fortune to always replace them, what are my alternatives?

  • By the way, the nearest town from where I live is almost 35 miles and I'm unemployed.

  • Answer:

What has been the cause of your flats?? Has it been nails or something you keep running over .. hitting potholes, bad tires??? That would determine what you need to do to stop this from happening.

Either you have an existing problem with the actual tires or you really do have an enemy. Ha ha. But in all seriousness it sounds like you need new tires. I found a great place online where you can actual match the tires to your vehicle to see how they look and they offer great deals: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/

Well, what causes the flat tires? If it is nails on a public road, then everyone is getting them, so the authorities need to fix the road. If it is because you park at a metal scrap yard and there is all sorts of steel shards laying around, stay away from them and walk that last couple of blocks. Buy yourself an air compressor that will inflate a tire and a tire repair kit. Keep a compressor in the car that works off of the battery. Some times you can repair a tire when it is just low and not flat by sticking the patch cord in the hole, so watch your tires before they go flat. Some big tires are too tough to patch by hand and have to be drilled out and patched professionally. Stop driving on a flat tire and ruining it. Carry lots of spares. You should have plenty. Finally, next time you are in town, go to the tire store and get a job repairing and mounting tires. They will let you fix yours for free, and after a couple of days you will be an expert, and won't have to buy new tires.

Well either stop driving or buy a horse. You could also buy good tires

Depends on why they are going flat. Buying cheap/secondhand tyres? Try buying better tyres. More expensive up front but cheaper in the long run. Keep running over nails? Stop it... Keep doing burnouts at the lights? Don't. Learn how to fix them yourself. Fill them with puncture preventing foam/other stuff. Quite a few options...

When you actually get wheels you'll learn that the solution to a flat tire isn't a new tire.
