Do black friday sales end on that day?

Can it really be called a black Friday sale if it's held on Thanksgiving? Also is it good to start the sales that early?

• In an effort to boost sales and get a leading edge on the competition Wal-mart is starting their black Friday sale at 8 pm on Thanksgiving. First of all that isn't Friday; Shouldn't it be called Thanksgiving Day sale. Second I know while holiday dinners are usually eaten in the mid-afternoon I usually do nothing after eating them for the remainder of the evening, well besides the dishes. Third while I know not everyone drinks alcohol, a lot of people do with holiday dinners; in my family it's wine with dinner, and champagne with dessert; Couldn't this cause even more "aggressive" shoppers? I mean people already fight and trample others to death over a few dollars off a hot item, let alone having a few drinks under their belt; not to mention it could possibly make the roads more dangerous. Finally I feel for the employees they do have lives as well and would probably be happier at home with their families. Well I've expressed how I feel about black Friday sales on Thanksgiving day, how do the rest of y'all feel?

  It's still called a Black Friday sale bc everyone knows that's the best day for sales. They'll keep the name bc it's better for their business. Employees don't mind that much bc it's a lot of holiday pay coming their way. I'm sure some people turn it down but there will always be people that want or need that money. I always thought Black Friday was a crazy day as it is. I've been out shopping on a few of them. I don't do it anymore. It's not worth it to me.
