Where can I find LEGITIMATE online jobs?

Where can I find LEGITIMATE online jobs? It has been a complete and utter failure for me to find jobs in the real world. My dad is constantly telling me that since I spend most of my time on the Internet, I should try and find Internet jobs and consider that as an alternative. However, lots of online jobs are actually scams, and it is hard to wade out the real ones from the fake ones. Can you help me find real ones including but not limited to online data entry and surveys? I need to guarantee that if I do the requirements and all that is asked and demanded of me, I'll get paid. I live in Illinois near Chicago if that matters.
