How many old people do you see using Kindle or iPad on a daily basis?

  • Are retirement homes teaching these old people how to use this technology? I see so many old people with Kindles. How did they learn how to use them? How could they afford one on Social Security fixed income? I want to ask them, but I don't want them to yell at me.

    I'm an old person and don't have a Kindle .. yet. I am thinking about getting one. But just because I'm old, doesn't mean I have lost the ability to figure out the latest technology .. or ask questions about it. My husband is old too and an electrical engineer. I think between the 2 of us, we have enough connected brain cells to crack the code on how to work them. Not every old person is in a "retirement home" .. or living on only Social Security. What they spend their money on is their business. There .. now I yelled at you instead. :)

How old is old, by your standards? Not all old people are in retirement homes - both my grandmothers lived at home till they were over 100 - and not all old people are on social security. My ex boss, who is over retirement age, not only has an iPad but is still designing computer systems for engineering systems - ones people pay serious money to buy.
