How do I host a charity event?

If a business offered to host an social event for a charity to bring people together but the charity refused the help, u would say?

  • An American Legion Hall offered hold a carnival/family fun day with local businesses providing food, entertainment etc at no expense to the charity. The main purpose of the event was for people who have a family member with a disability to come together and share their experiences to not feel "alone" in the challenges of constant medical concerns.

  • Answer:

We would find another charity that would appreciate our efforts.

First thing? It was an offer, not a firm commitment since I see you have not mentioned any contractual agreement on their part. I feel for the issue you are supporting. I can, unfortunately, offer you no legal hope of making them liable. Do you have a TV channel that supports viewer issues? You could threaten them with going public. They HATE that one. Good luck.
