Richard Pryor is listed as the #1 stand-up comedian by Comedy Central, while George Carlin is #2 and Louis CK is #98. Who wrote this?

Those lists are always highly subjective. Part of their purpose is to opine, but also to spur debate and get attention, traffic, etc.

nothing wrong with richard prior as number 1. tim allen shouldn't even be on the list though. where'd bill hicks fall on the list? no, don't answer that, it'll probably just make me angry. *edit* bill hicks at 19? that's pretty respectable. sam kinison shouldn't be on the list either. with lenny bruce at number 3, it's clear that the list gives preference to older comics, which is understandable considering their legacy is in place and well understood. the later part of the list has newer comics, who still have years ahead of them in their career. but tim allen?

if it wasn't written by comedy central itself, it was decided by those only who overly invest in making thier life more of the idiot box, than of any real living. not enough people for it to be really true at all.
