Why do stereotypes even exist?

  • Me and a friend of mine were discussing stereotypes and that left me with a question, why do they even exist? I hate stereotypes about ALL races. One that i really hate is "white people are all inbred or into beastiality"

We let them, there apart of our identity of cultural respresentation, in essense, there not really stereo types as much as characteristics. What no one wants to realize, is that alot of groups are actualy proud of being part of there culture and certain stereotyoping is actually a compliment and not, a put down, simply put, it's saying this goes with being who i am you don't like it, fuck off, it's my heriatage and i'm damm proud of it :)

Stereotypes exist because of the inability for those who categorize, to differentiate between what is truth, and what is false for a group of individuals. Basically, what one sees or perceives, is automatically seen as absolute truth for the group in question. It comes from a lack of understanding and ability to separate the behavior of a few, from the masses involved.
