Do HATEMONGERs misusing freedom of speech ? Sterling is being severely punished for sharing his view in private. How about in public?

  • example: you are on yahoo an describe that you molest children. can yahoo throw you out? and you scream "freedom fo speech." example you walk into a school where there are minors and scream: all teachers are idiots... will you be thrown out screaming continuously:freedom fo speech? there are thousands of webpages and court cases where freedom of speech is either misinterpreted or fought over in court. some people seem to think they can say anything, yet they take others freedom to live in peace way. reality is freedom of speech is most often misinterpreted by those who have no manners. the government provided for all a freedom to express their convictions or views.... however it is not talking about "oh let kids bully kids" or "verbally assault" other people.

I think people misuse freedom of speech all the time. I agree with you about people without manners abusing it. Like in your examples. You certainly couldn't walk onto a plane and yell "Bomb" either. Some things are just wrong.

Freedom of speech does not include speech that is intended to incite or spread hate or violence or maliciously harm the listeners. There is also a difference between public speech and private speech. Regardless, where hatemongers fail (per se) is that the freedom of speech is NOT absolute.

I think violent speech with intention to hurt in public can get a person into big time trouble. most people who don't know their hiny from their head defend freedom of speech...and what they really mean is they want to use violent speech against others.there is no freedom in that. anyone doing this is imprisoned in their mind.
