What is your favorite family vacation memory from your childhood?

New York-Coney Island.. Just visiting relatives from both sides of my family and the places they took me.. I didn't repeat it with my kids..those relative had passed on..

We took my Grandfather on the last trip he was able to make for ending in a rest home. We swathe Reds play a doubleheader went to the horse races the next day then another game.

In my early teens, we camped for a week at the time during mid summer. We had a favorite spot on our local reservoir. There was a small peninsula jutting out into the lake where we'd pitch our tent. Often, we'd be joined by three or four families that made a regular ritual of meeting everyone there in July. I was in my early teens and with hormones raging, any girl my age was chased and bothered to no end. It was a week of boating, swimming, fishing, ghost stories by the fire, top forty music on a transistor radio, and an interest in the opposite sex that wasn't there the summer before. When my children were small, I took them to the same location. While they played in the water, I took a sentimental journey in my own mind.

I remember going camping and sharing a sleeping bag with my stepsister. Spooning her was like shooting up pure dopamine and guilt at the same time.
