How many people doubt the moon landing?

Why do people doubt the moon landing? Do you?

  • Answer:

Because they don't know how to properly interpret evidence, and because having 'special' knowledge makes them feel better about themselves. Mythbusters debunked a number of Moon landing conspiracy hypotheses, including the 'fluttering flag' as did Penn and Teller, and Professor Brian Cox.

I can't prove it either way, so I give them the benefit of the doubt.

There is some evidence that it might have been faked but frankly I don't care. Who needs to be on the moon anywey?

One theory I've heard about the moon landing being a hoax is because you can't see any stars in the background of the footage, it's just black. The reason it's all black is because the shine from the stars is too small for the camera they used to pick it up. Those cameras were lucky to capture what was directly in front of them. I don't doubt the moon landing because we weren't that corrupt of a nation back in 1969 so I would have to assume we wouldn't lie about something like this. We want to be the best, but we wouldn't pretend to do something we didn't. That's my opinion anyway.

Even without the direct evidence of being able to shoot a laser beam to Sea of Tranquility and have it bounce back via the retro-reflecting mirror array set-up there...I would not doubt it simply by the fact that; to stage it as a hoax, tens of thousands of people would have to have "been in on the scam" for it to have succeeded as such...and people are simply WAY too eager to blab for it to ever had been pulled-off without being exposed as a hoax before the First launch, much less after 6 round-trips. ...perhaps the belief in it being a hoax somehow reassures the believers that 'big-brother' actually has such control to pull-off such a thing...such control as to make an actual landing on the moon a fricken cake-walk by comparison.

I knew a reading specialist who used a book about rockets in class. It ended, "Some day men might even walk on the moon!" She pointed out to these 10-year-olds that the book was old and we already had. They thought she was joking. Spaceflight was a big deal when we were young and it didn't happen all at once. But nobody told these kids. Those kids are now in their 40s, and it's likely that most of the doubters grew up after spaceflight stopped being such a big deal. They didn't live through it.

The flag fluttered. There is no atmosphere or breeze on the moon.
