If I'm already accepted to college, how can a high school suspension affect me? Keep in mind, I got suspended after getting accepted.

Someone told me that the college has to specifically ask to see my dicisplinary record in order to see that I got suspended, is that true?

Answer:
Your high school records travel where you go. You still have to sent them to the college after you graduate. I'm sure you haven't gotten all your grades yet. The bad thing about getting suspended is that you don't get to make up the work. You will get zeroes. That at bring your grade point average down. Most acceptance letters include a contingency---you are accepted, providing you complete the work and don't get arrested for a crime, etc. It also depends on the seriousness of the suspension. You will be asked questions about it and you have to be truthful. Colleges realize students make mistakes and are willing to change their bad habits in order to get a degree. Chances are, you are more mature and ready to settle down to study and learn.

As a graduating senior, you have entered the period of academic grace which should continue through your sophomore year in college. As long as you are clever and whatever you do that gets you in trouble is somewhat harmless but ingenious, you will be held in high stead. You are about to enter the best couple of years of your life so lighten up a bit. But you have to make your grades. There probably is a book somewhere about the college stunts pulled by famous people. You should read it and try to be like them. At least review the movie, Animal House.

The college may revoke your acceptance.

Unless the suspension prevents you from graduating on time, the college would probably have no interest in the matter. They have bigger issues to worry about.

How the hell do I know. Check with the college. It's a wonder you got in anywhere. DUH

That would probably differ from college to college.

Ask for a paddling providing they agree to remove the suspension off your record. LOL ! Seriously, I don't think I would worry about what your college will think about one suspension. Now if you had a series of suspensions on your record, that would be different. You go to college and forget about high school. Stay out of trouble.

Don't ask...don't tell. What did you get suspended for? Smoking in the boys room? Screwing your english teacher?

You should worry more about your permanent record.
