What medicine can I use to reduce swelling for bug bites?

Answer:
Antihistimes like diphenhydramine (marketed as Benadryl) work well. So do icepacks. An experimental method that seems to work if you react within the first 5 minutes is to hotpack the sting with as hot a pack as you can without burning the patient. Leave this in place 10 minutes, renewing the pack if it cools. Then switch to coldpacks. Aspirin, Acetaminohen (APAP), or Ibuprofen will help too.
