First of all, ask yourself why you want to join the industry. Yes, you said you like it. But why? Have three to four answers why you like it and then answer what is it that you are good at. Writing, designing, or understanding client problems and selling solutions. Once you are clear in your head, join as an intern in these departments in any agency. Spend not more than a month and take a call about whether you truly like the industry or not. Simple rule of thumb- if you don't like what you are doing for one month, chances are that you won't like doing it for a lifetime. Next, if you want to get into design or writing, create a portfolio. Pick out your favourite brands and do some spec campaigns. Go about meeting CDs in different agencies not from a job standpoint but from getting feedback intent. Next, fine-tune your portfolio and then look out for junior level jobs. Once you get the job be sure to be the first in the office and the last one out. Do this for a few years and then you will have had a good amount of work to your name. Once piece of advice: do not chase awards. It's not a good thing. Instead, keep improving the quality of your work on existing clients. With every passing hour. Every passing day. And every passing year. And if the work done works well for the client, awards will follow you. And, someday, you will be able to leave a mark on the industry. I hope this helps. :-)

if fresher, work as intern. Try campus recruitment, or meet directly advertising professionals in any waterhole, you will be able to identify them easily.
