1942 Nickel no mint mark?

Where is the mint mark on coins from 1942?

  • Answer:

Cent - under the date. Nickel - if made of cupronickel, to the right of Monticello. "War nickels" - above the dome Dime - to the right of the word ONE on the back Quarter - under the eagle Half - at roughly the 8:00 position on the back near the rim. Mint marks have been moved all over the place on coins so there is no simple rule for finding them. If you need more information, check CoinFacts.com or Wikipedia.
