How do you configure a Windows 98 PC to connect to a Windows 2000 server which is the domain controller?

    There are two choices either use DHCP Server or DNS Server. If use first one (DHCP Server, there is no need of giving IP Address. The Win98 PC automatically discovers it from DHCP Server runing through win 2000 server. second option is to use DNS Server. Start ==> Settings ==> Control Panel==> Networking ==> Configuration Under Configuration Select Client for Microsoft Networking. After seleecting that it will install your ethernet card. Then under TCP/IP Properties give your machine IP Address and subnet mask and DNS configuration Enable DNS and give your machine name under Host Name and give your DNS or Domain Controller Name & IP Address Then under Identification Tab give your Computer Name and under Workgroup give your Domain controller name. Under Access Control give either User Level or Share Level depend on your need.
