Advertising Education: Which are the best ad schools in the world?
-
Q1: Which are the best Ad Schools in the world? Q2: Which course / teacher of these Ad schools are the best? I'm not looking for portfolio schools, like the Miami Ad Schools. Instead, I'm looking for the ones that teaches creativity creatively, the ones that responds to the changing landscape of advertising, the ones that doesn't stick to the textbooks but make their own textbooks. The reason I'm looking for this info is that I'm helping my professor to reform the Advertising Design Program in our school. It'd definitely help. Thanks Guys!

Answer:
I am a fan of VCU Brandcenter. They seem to have a very strategically led, holistic program. And they appear (to an outsider) to be a bit more selective about their student body. (I've gotten the impression that many of the ad schools will admit anyone whose check clears...) http://brandcenter.vcu.edu/

Seems like most of the answers so far ARE places like Miami Ad School -- and I'd agree those are all fine programs. But, if you're looking for more flexible, informal, and potentially more creative approaches, then I'd take a look at: Brainco in Minneapolis The Book Shop in Los Angeles Austin Creative Dept. in (you'll never guess) Austin The School of Visual Concepts in Seattle As for top instructors and courses at those schools, I only know enough to recommend Will Chau at Austin Creative Dept. and Mike Peterson at SVC in Seattle.

Advertising programs exist across the globe, independent or University based, creative or strategic. As a University we run a 'major' based undergraduate program where students can opt for double majors in areas like marketing or design.https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/considering-career-advertising-now-perfect-time-enrol-david-w-l-reid
