How can I apply for jobs at Google or Facebook given the fact that I graduated from an ordinary engineering college?

Those people are good at coding stuff and they proved themselves by earning good rank in coding competitions conducted at HackerRank, CodeChef, TopCoder etc. If you are passionate and coding, and love algorithms and data structures, you should definitely participate in the online coding competitions. Once you acquire enough coding skills or secure a good rank in those competitions, you can apply for Google, by highlighting your rank in those coding competitions. You can also attend the events like Google days, Google Developer group or Microsoft user group and network with people of those organizations and request for a referral. If you are good at coding stuff and you are backed with a strong online profile at CodeChef or HackerRank website, you'll surely hear from the google recruitment team.
