Many times Snapdeal doesn't deliver the products if you have paid in advance. Is Snapdeal a scam site?

  • I have some really bad experience with this stupid site snapdeal http://www.snapdeal.com/  , If you pay your money in advance they really don't deliver the product . I ordered one product in Oct 2nd week now its Nov 2nd week , Almost after 1 month i have not received the product . if you call their customer care they will tell we will get back to you don't worry but they will never call you back , if you write a mail to them they will simply reply with predefined answers , So its painful for a customer to run behind those people to get your product or to get your money back (As they will not cancel the product) . i feel like they are worse than government departments . out of all sites like flipkart , amazon , jabong , myntra this site is really really bad . After going trough their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Snapdeal ) i found that there are lot more people with similar experience . So is that snapdeal is a scam site ? they are there to simply cheat customers , because if you simply cheat one one customer randomly you avoid getting caught in big market like India and  it accumulates to lot of money . is that this is their business strategy to increase revenue or its their supply line problem?

    Snapdeal definitely seems to have a business model of encouraging customers to pay in advance - then locking the money in for a month or two . They seem to be buying products only towards the end of 40 to 60 days, knowing that even a consumer court would give them that much time to figure it out. I think it is a way to earn interest on customer money, it is illegal for a retail merchant to do that, but exploiting the loopholes in processes for grievance redressals and the law, snapdeal is managing to do this. I know at least 10 people in my own locality to whom this has happened, and I am one of them. My order was for a relatively expensive consumer good (TV) and it has been close to 40 days. Snapdeal cancelled my order when I asked them to, that was 30 days back. They still have not refunded me the money though, since they claim that according to their process there is no way to cancel an order that has not reached without finding out why it hasn't reached. Of course, that smells of a scam. I apply the looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck - is a duck principle. You take the customer money, then say you've sent the product, through a nondescript courier service there's no way to contact, and then you claim you don't know where the product is so you cannot cancel it. I think most ecommerce merchants in India are resorting to scam to get around the FDI. Flipkart has its own fradulent practices (WS Retail), they do not hit the customer, but are against the law. Amazon too does some scamming, but not the customer yet. The customer service process is kept very longwinded in order to introduce the necessary time delays to withhold large sums of money from lots of people. Businesses must be borrowing money at 10 to 12 %, we loan them ours for a month for free, that should surely help.

I had very recently ordered a watch for my mother costing 5k. I get an empty box in return!! They ask for my address proof yo register a complaint later on. Every reply then on has a wait period of 24 - 48 hours. The freaks don't even bother calling back when I told them I am riding my bike. Still trying to get a refund. ts really true that Snapdeal is a's biggest online cheater. When you pay in advance then definitely get ready for the defective item you ordered. I recently bought one EHD of a reputed brand from Snapdeal. I couldn't check it for 8-10 days as I was out of station for Diwali vacations. But after returning back I was shocked after opening the box to found it defective one. When I complained about it by mail & calling their helpline they rubbed their responsibility telling that 7 days return period is over & that they can't help anymore. Instead they advised me to contact product company. It was really pathetic when they can easily replace the defective product as it was their fault. Snapdeal is a big Shame on online shopping.

My latest order of  a memory card is stuck with them for 30+ days... support is idiotic at best. Their 30 days guaranteed resolution is a joke. I am tired contacting them. Order ID is 3245040930 if anyone from this pathetic company even cares about its customers. Though it's not a scam site, the experience has worsen so much that in the past few months, it's horrible now.

Most of the Indian company do not care about customer , they only care about the money they earn. Also you should be careful about the seller rating while purchasing any product from site like Snapdeal. Snapdeal is like a mall where many retailer are selling their goods.  So You should always check sellers rating before buying any product from Snapdeal.

Paid them 20k, never refunded The only reply is get from them is With reference to your complaint number 10594637, we would like to inform you that our courier partner has made multiple attempts for the delivery but due to certain issues at courier end, these attempts have turned out unsuccessful. Hence our courier partner has returned this product back to us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. In case of prepaid order, refund will be made to the same account or credit card as you had paid from, within 48 business hours. Please be informed that it may take up to 7 working days for amount to reflect in your bank account. Regards, Snapdeal Customer Service Team

Hi Raj  snapdeal is not a fraud it's India's 3rd ecommerce websites, also being on this big level they need to work on their CRM and Logistic. it time you should go viral post your order details on social networks tagging their profile it's time for a social audit do it 5 6 times in a day

My recent experience(first and last) proved they don't have any control on their sellers, customer care executives don't have any knowledge on the products nor any clue on the orders. Also they don't provide seller contact details, so there is no way to know why your order is not delivered. All my emails to customer care got the the same response: "Dear Sunil, With reference to your complaint number 11524683, we would like to inform you that our courier partner has made multiple attempts for the delivery but due to certain issues at courier end, these attempts have turned out unsuccessful. Hence our courier partner has returned this product back to us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. In case of prepaid order, refund will be made to the same account or credit card as you had paid from, within 48 business hours. Please be informed that it may take up to 7 working days for amount to reflect in your bank account. Regards, Snapdeal Customer Service Team" Their business model is not going to work for long. Soon they will realize they can't continue in this field only by offering discounted products.
