Good Universities at NSW?

Which universities have good research facilities and faculty for pursuing a PhD in thermal systems engineering?

• While I am pursuing my Masters in one of the top public Universities in US there is an inclination towards Engine Research over here. I wish to pursue my PhD primarily in the field of Refrigeration, Thermoelectric Cooling, Heat Exchangers and so on. I am looking to build a database of such Universities and Faculty whether from the US or European Union or Asian Universities who are doing some really good work in these fields. Quora is the best source of crowd-sourced information which is the only way I suppose we can get an idea about top-notch universities in such specific field of interests. As I understand, when I want to continue in my field of interest the ranking of university comes at a secondary importance than the work being done by my intended research group.
