Why do south Indians hate north Indians?

Answer:
Thanks for A2A! Although I don't know the very reason, but one which sound maybe is your language which comes in between or maybe their culture is different from yours which is creating a barrier but it is an stereotype thinking when you say 'people' which I don't agree at all because everywhere there are many educated people who can think of different aspects of a situation rather than those some in number morons! And also the reason can be that sometime in their life they might have met a north Indian and he/she might have had given a bad impression on them and so according to that they have build up their perception being a stereotypic about north Indian! So try to learn more about their culture rather than just to sit and think why everyone over there hates you and try to look like them I mean like locas over there and indulge in some kind of activity! BEST OF LUCK!

One fact I'd like to share about people of Tamil nadu is that they are loud, and like to do things loudly. No offences. This could be irritating and might offend us, north Indians. You can think like tamilians are similar to haryanavis. People of haryana have a very thick language. Secondly, there was a anti Hindi movement in Tamil nadu to abolish hindi. And a huge cultural difference.

I cannot speak for all south Indians. We are around 250 million people.I do not hate anyone because of their religion, language, nationality, ethnicity or anything that they have not done and they cannot control over. But I do hate people who use religion, language, nationality, ethnicity etc.. to unjustly dominate, irritate and show superiority over others. I believe all languages, peoples, castes, religion and tribes of India are equal. India is a republic and democracy but NOT a Hindi majoritarian imperialism. I wish Indian constitution also treats all the languages of India equally without discriminating between Hindi or non-Hindi.

There is no hate. Hate is the worst word in this planet. Perhaps there are lot of misunderstandings. English could unite both the groups. Also a heteronomeous culture is required to create more mix between the groups. Mixed marriagesare required badly. These could create a unique new culture with new goals. Similar to Japan.

1. North Indians are expecting everyone to speak Hindi. That arrogance is main reason for hatred towards North Indians. Drop that attitude. Speak in English or try to learn Tamil 2. Most of the people in Tamil Nadu are introverts. Please respect that. We don't party like you guys. 3. Don't spoil our railway stations 4. Don't try to be bossy. it may be cool in your culture but not here. Respect every one. 5. We don't like Rajini kanth jokes

I don't hate tamilians. But I wanna share my experience. I got decent rank to get a seat in one of the colleges in http://TamilNadu.So I landed in chennai expecting all tamilians to be super intelligent, soft spoken and accommodating( I had no idea about the general behaviour , the Hindi Tamil conflict,my only introduction to suth India was via the Sunday afternoon movies on DD,which I loved and south Indian food, still my favourite cuisine).Man the experiences we had in chennai. The localities would not answer you even if you speak in like English, Nd they would just ignore you after a disgusting gesture and say 'poda'.Next thing,I ran out of that place.Thankfully I had gotten rank in other exams too.Don't regret my decision even a bit.

It is not true. Many Tamils court and marry North Indians. But it is also true that the political groups have poisoned the average Tamil mind that all Northies are Aryans as their language (hindi) is so similar in appearance to Sanskrit.

We are that people who told Yaathum oore yaavarum kelir ( Any place is our place and everyone are our friends) 3000 years ago. We generally do not hate anyone. People of many ethnicity live in Tamilnadu quite peacefully. There is place called Sowcarpet in Chennai which is a hub of North India Maarwari people. We have a friendly outlook towards everyone but if anyone messes up with our sentiments we keep them away. It is only your assumption that tamil people hate north indians.

We are Tamils , we don't give a fuck about anything happening outside Tamil Nadu (and we consider only things that has to do something with us) . All we want is our Homeland to be safe and secure from all threats (most importantly from outsiders who come here). Because we have already learnt from Tamil Genocide which took place in Sri Lanka. So bottomline is "Try not to feed us this bullshit called WE ARE INDIANS" . And one day we will take our freedom.
