IT sector in India has plenty of jobs for fresh computer science graduates. Candidates from top notch engineering colleges however get attractive job offers from MNC IT companies in comparison to not so known engineering colleges. Additionally, candidates with high percentage of mark and good communication skills as well as sound computer knowledge do not face problem in getting a job whether they are from a reputed engineering college or not. Computer engineers can get jobs in non-IT companies like universities, research, private and public industries, government departments, business organisations, commercial organisations and the manufacturing sector, etc. Besides the Computer Engineers have plenty of options to work in IT companies in departments such as design, development, assembly, manufacture and maintenance, etc. Working as programmer, web developer, and E- commerce specialist with telecommunications companies, automotive companies, aerospace companies, etc. can be a lucrative career option as well. Moreover, numerous national and multi-national computer manufacturing companies, computer hardware system design and development companies, computer networking companies, software development companies, etc. require computer professionals in large numbers.

The fact that you do not love coding will prove to be a stumbling block for you if you either want to take up a job in the IT sector or decide to take up the GATE. If you are interested in taking up the Civils you can always do that as there is not much of a correlation between it and your grades. However remember the fact that Civils is always going to be the toughest nut to crack. Now coming to fact that you do not love coding, if you are talking about coding in relation with your degree then do not worry my friend, real coding will be a level apart from what to do in your college. If you are OK with algorithms and are inclined towards mathematics then you will surely love to code, it just may be the case of classical misunderstanding in your case. As you are only in your 4th Semesters you have got time, not many realize their true worth until after they reach their 3rd Years so think about it !!

CSE is a very vast and popular branch therefore, there are many career opportunities for students of CSE. One can go for Programming, Designing, Networking etc some people believe that CSE is only about programming so they canât do anything afterwards. But it is a myth apart from programming one can go designing, networking, database administration etc. Good universities like CV Raman, Anna University, Lovely Professional University prepare their students in programming, designing, networking etc.

The easiest option is to take the first job that is offered to you. If you are in India then it happens to be the first job out of campus and that is with a big MNC. There is not much happening at the entry level in those companies. But if you really like to kick-start your career then find a startup where the work is challenging and where you can grow with the company. This may not be profitable in the short term. But in long run your experience will be valued here. Good Luck.

Its just your 4th Sem. Coding is just a skill you still have time to improve if you want. Maybe you are not happy because of the type of education you might be getting is not suited for you. There are lot of online resources. If you like problem solving you will definitely like coding. Go through lectures from standard universities in subjects which you feel you are not good at. You might feel different about them after going through them. I have a personal experience of the same. It is just the 4th sem, utilize your time to find your interest,
