The weirdest crime ever committed?

If your friend hires a prostitute without your knowledge, and you have sex with the prostitute without knowing she is a prostitute, has a crime been committed?  If so, who has committed the crime?

  • Assumptions: - prostitution is illegal where you are. - sex was the part of the deal your friend and the prostitute made. - you didn't know about their arrangement

  • Answer:

    In California and Nevada, the prostitute would still be guilty of prostitution if the payment was implicitly for the sexual act regardless of who was receiving it.  The payor would also be guilty, but the unknowing third party would probably be found not guilty.
